Mathurs of Madanpur

The Devotees, Custodians, and Pillars of Shri Rajgopalji Maharaj Temple

For over approximately four centuries, when Shri Lala Kaanjimal Mathur moved from Rapdi to Madanpur, the Mathur clan—staunch devotees of Lord Krishna—brought with them a profound dedication to Madanpur. Shri Kuwar Lalji Mathur further boosted it with the construction of Shri Thakur Rajgopalji Maharaj Virajman Mandir, treating the deity not only as The Lord, but as his Divine heir. This bond makes the deity a family member of the whole Madanpur Mathur clan.

As such, descendants of the Madanpur Mathur clan have, for generations, served the temple and the Madanpur rural society with unflinching dedication. The temple became the epicenter for the growth of Madanpur village, looked upon by the religious and educated Mathur descendants. They not only propagated Sanatan Dharam but also utilized resources to develop farmers, education, and health facilities for the rural community.
