The mandir was constructed in the year 1871 by the efforts of Sri Lala Kuwar Lal Mathur after he dreamt of Rajgopalji Maharaj as his son. He belongs to Mathur Royal Landlord family, Madanpur and as such ever since the temple is maintained and administered and run by the Mathur family.
Thakur Raj Gopal Ji Maharaj temple is one of the largest temples in the whole Firozabad District and the structure of mandir is a unique harmony of North & South Indian Architectural Engineering. Thakur Raj Gopal Ji Mandir is built with the traditional principles of Vastu based on Ranganathaswami (Vishnu) Temple in Shrirangapatna, Karnataka, India. It’s one of the very few temples in India, where regular festivals are celebrated and all the traditions and rituals are performed according to the prescribed Vedic norms.
