Dress Code

To enhance the spiritual ambience among the devotees coming to Madanpur for the darshan of Thakur Rajgopalji Maharaj, the temple trust has introduced a traditional dress code.

Men

For men the dress code is dhoti or pyjamas with Kurta or upper cloth.

Women

For women the preferred dress code is saree or Lehga, Gagra, Channiya with blouse, Kurta with salwar, churidar, pyjama with upper cloth (Dupatta or Chunni).

Strictly Prohibited:

  • Western dresses and body revealing outfits for women in the temple parisar.
  • Wearing socks on Jagmohan.
  • Men with half pants and ladies with nighties.

General Mandatory Practices

As per the customs and lore of Madanpur, following are a few mandatory rituals to be followed within Shri Thakur Rajgopalji Maharaj temple and its premises:

  • Don’t Try to go beyond the fence of Garabhgarah. It is banned to enter inside the fence.
  • Don’t touch the feet of temple pujari. Touching of pujaris in any way is prohibited.
  • Deposit your offerings only in Danpatra (Hundi). For cash offering take the receipt for it or donate online on QR code mentioned by temple trust.
  • Don't Carry any type of weapons, sharp & cutting articles and ammunition on Jagmohan and in temple premises.
  • Don't Carry articles made up of leather on Jagmohan.
  • Don't Throw away the prasad and teerth given to you at the temple. Eating prasad on Jagmohan or temple staircases is strictly prohibited.
  • Don't enter in the temple Rasoi.
  • Ringing Temple ghanta by females is prohibited.
  • No eatables are allowed inside the temple.
  • Take care of your valuables like purse, ornaments, Mobile phones, etc.
  • Don't Eat non-vegetarian food, consume liquor or other intoxicants and smoke while in temple premises.
  • Don’t put coins or note with tags anywhere in the temple.
  • Maintain cleanliness within the temple and its premises.
  • Strictly Pets are not allowed.
  • Please follow and co-operate with the temple customs.
  • Use of Mobile phones in the temple premises is prohibited.
  • Don't Spit or be a nuisance inside the temple premises.
